Today I am playing with one of the beautiful Morning Glory images, that are part of the January release at Tiffany Doodles. I chose the single flower and printed it twice for my card.
Before I started coloring I googled morning glory and looked at a few photos. They come in a gorgeous range of blues, violets and even some pinks. They also range in vibrancy from pale washed colors to vibrant saturated hues. I chose to work on the lighter end and with a series of blues that have some purples to them. I used B60, B63, B66, G21 and Y17 for my image and it is printed on X-Press It Blending Card. The supplies for my card include:
Cardstock - Bazzill, Swiss Dots, Irish Eyes, cut to 5½ x 8½
Patterned paper - My Minds Eye, A Beautiful Life, blue cut to 5 x 3¾”, purple cut to 4¼ x 3”
Ink - Dew Drop, Graphite Black
Trim and ribbon from my leftover scraps
I created my card base by scoring and folding my cardstock. I rounded the corners on my patterned paper and inked the edges. I adhered the blue paper and then the blue and purple to my card base. I tied a bow in my green ribbon and adhered both my purple trim and green bow to my card. On to coloring:
Step #1 - Use your B60 to fill the center and veins of the flower body.
Step #2 - Use B60 again and working on one petal feather from the center outward.
Step #3 - Use your B63 and feather from the outer edge of the petal inward overlapping the B60.
Step #4 - Go back in with your B60 and feather from the center outward smoothing the blend with the B63. Complete all the petals this way.
Step #5 - Add B60 to the bottom section of the flower. Use your B63 to add a shadow on the base of the flower and to fill in the folded petal.
Step #6 - Use your B66 to add shading to the folded petal.
Step #7 - Use B63 to blend the colors together and then add G21 to your flower stem and Y17 to the stamen.
Fussy cut two colored flowers and add them to your card popping the petals up on the top one. All finished!
I will be back in two weeks with brand new images from Tiffany. If you want to see some of my other creations stop by my blog at www.scrapweaver.com

I'm delighted to introduce to you 3 new ladies joining the Tiffany Doodles team! We are happy to have them here!
Hello from the gorgeous Twin Cities area in Minnesota. I have always enjoyed being creative. As a child my mother was always celebrating my creativity by sending me to classes and camps, and giving me crafty gifts like art supplies and how to books. I am always happy to share my love for crafts and art projects. I enjoy making cards with and for friends, and for a couple favorite causes. I also scrapbook, create home decor and gift items, and I'm studying jewelry design. My Blog!
Hi, my name is Kathy McIlrath and I live in sunny Florida. My son asked for a scrapbook of his life for his high school graduation present like his cousin had received. I was lost! I called my niece (who made the scrapbook for her brother) and we spent several evenings talking. She then offered to come for the weekend to help me get started. She gave me a list of supplies to purchase so off I went shopping. As I was contemplating my many options a lady came up and said “you look lost”. Boy was she correct! She gave me the pros and cons of the many products available to help me make my selections. So that weekend my niece and sister-in-law drove 355 miles to get me started. What a fun weekend we had and I have been hooked over since. I just love to scrapbook and make cards. Then I stumbled onto Make the Cut software and found an added love for my scrapbooking. I really enjoy paper piecing and how much it can enhance a scrapbook page. But best of all I have met many wonderful ladies and a few men and have found some life long friends including the “you look lost” lady along the way.

Michelle here! I have one of the beautiful brand new releases to share today! I chose the Sweet Bluebird from the new sets at Tiffany Doodle's and colored the sweet little bird.
The card is simple and easy to put together. Here are the supplies I used:
Mulberry paper - Prima, torn to 3 1/2 x 3 1/2"
Patterned paper - My Mind’s Eye, cut to 4 x 5¼”
Cardstock - Bazzill, 8½ x 5½”
Twine - American Crafts
Flowers - Prima
Pearls - Mark Richards
To create my card base I attached the mulberry paper to the patterned paper, wrapped the twine to the back of the patterned paper and then attached the patterned paper to the card base. I will add the flowers after I add my bird.
I printed out my bird on X-Press It Blending Card and used B21,B24, B28, Y38, E0000, E00, E11, E13 and E15 to do my coloring.
Step #1 - Color in the face of the bird with your E0000.
Step #2 - Use your E00 to add a touch of shading from the bottom and right edge inward on the face.
Step #3 - Blend the E00 in using your E0000. Fill in the beak and legs with Y38. Now add B21 to the body, wings and tail of the bird.
Step #4 - B24 is used for your first layer of shading. I added mine on the bottom edge of the wing, tail and body. I also added some under the wing and a touch at the shoulder.
Step #5 - Use your B28 to add one more layer of shading. I did not add this layer to the wings or tail.
Step #6 - Blend the blue layers together staring with your B24 and then working back to your B21. Color the entire wood perch with E11.
Step #8 - Use your E13 and color a broad stroke over each of the lines on the wood.
Step #9 - With a light touch draw narrower bands of color over each line with your E15.
Step #10 - I am not going to blend these layers together. To finish go back in with your E0000 or with your colorless blender and create lighter streaks over your E11.
To finish my card I used micro scissors and an X-acto to fussy cut around my bluebird, pop-dotted him on my card and added my flowers and pearl center.
Hope you are finding the tutorials useful! If you have any requests please let me know. If you would like to see more about my teaching and creations stop by my Blog.
